• We are expanding our editorial team 🔥

  • We are very excited to have Veena Nair on board as a contributor to create magic alongside Alek. They will be planning the editorial content output for Q1 next year, initially deciding on The Paperboy’s course

  • Veena is based in the UK and until recently she was part of Kraken’s editorial team, writing articles in Kraken’s blog. Welcome Veena, it’s great to have you with us!

• That said, The Paperboy 🗞️ delivered a fresh piece this week as part of the DAO series, giving you the inside scoop on Cohere, a global network of regenerative co-living spaces for change makers. Cohere isn’t a DAO yet, but they are moving their organization towards becoming one. We reached out to them to connect and open up discussions for future collaborations, as we are experimenting in the same space (web3, tokenized communities, real estate & hospitality, DAOs and many more). • The Paperboy is now going on a holiday🎄, and coming back on the 12th of January.

• This week Emir Dino and Ambar visited Mandala Club - A new private members club in Singapore 🇸🇬

#LEGAL

• This week we had a call with a new Swiss law firm 🇨🇭, one that is very experienced in setting up DAOs to better understand the inner workings of Swiss associations

• We also had an introductory call with a law firm in The UAE 🇦🇪 to explore the legal structures for tokenization under the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) Free Zone

We realize this subject is not the most entertaining one, but truthfully it’s a very crucial one for us to tackle and comprehend. We are getting there though 🎯 Hang in there with us 🙌

Behind The Scenes 🎬

• Our creative lead Cem and our CTO Serkan are finalizing our website v2 🌐

• We’re in the process of preparing an investment thesis and proposal for our proof of concept project. The proposal will be presented in early January 2023 🏁

• We’ve started planning our upcoming “Dinner Table 🍽️” event series! We’ve got our eyes on JKT, LX, LDN, IST and BALI for Q1 2023! and lots more Bonfires 🔥ahead too…watch this space!

• On the design side, we are building 1OU’S brand architecture to ensure that all sub-brands and use cases align with our brand guidelines ✍️

• We shortlisted some awesome Web3 native artists for our upcoming OG Membership NFT drop. We’re in the process of reaching out to them to create a unique Membership NFT for all of our OG members 🎁

• On the editorial side, with Veena joining our core contributor’s team, we will be fine-tuning our content strategy and strategizing ways in which we can expand our publications’ readership 🗞️

Featured members 👀

This week Wenny stepped up at the centre stage 🎾.

She is from Jakarta 🇮🇩 and is the founder and COO of Mood Wellness Studios. Owner, investor and Operational Director of several coffee shops in Jakarta. She has a commodity trading business that imports computers, and data centre equipment mostly from China to Indonesia. She also founded ATS Logistics which handles door-to-door logistics from overseas to Indonesia.

Tell us who you are and how you got to where you are today.

Since I didn’t come from a family with money, I’ve always had to work hard to be able to spend/travel as much as my friends. Right after I finished my double degree, by the age of 22 I started my own import/export & forwarding and later on sourcing company. I can tell you more but there is a 75-word max limitation. On how I get here? I HUSTLED💪.

What are you working on now? And what's the next big thing in your field? 

Mood Studios Google it! I got into the wellness business in mid-2019. It has truly been an eye-opener. The people you get to meet and the mindfulness lifestyle that I’ve been taught IS PRICELESS. Recently we were approached by Potato Head Group, Mandarin Oriental and Dharmawangsa Hotel to add wellness elements to their hotels. Currently, we are trying to raise funds to widen and expand Mood. Hopefully, there will be Mood Studios all around Asia soon.

Assuming money and time are of no concern, describe your dream holiday.

Take friends and family and fly them to a villa with a tennis court somewhere in the south of France. A court by the sea, up on a cliff. Fly in Roger Federer. Play and learn tennis by the day and spend time with friends and family from sunset to night. Going café/bar hopping, shopping, watching a beautiful sunset and starry skies then later on a full moon. Don’t worry Emir and Ambar I’ll bring your chef Muji with us :)

If you could have dinner with any person, dead or alive, who would it be and why?

My Grandpa passed away in 2016. He fell down and went straight into a vegetative state for more than 10 years. In the conservative Chinese family where I came from, the son has always been a priority. Therefore, I was always ignored and put second. If I can talk to him right now, I’ll tell him that the values and beliefs that he taught me, made me into who I am today. And I will forever be grateful for that.
